VSAE Committees (2009-2010)

Associate Advisory – Chair: Jason Whitt

Plans the Annual Conference and Silent Auction. Provides input to the Board from associate members.

Audit – Chair: Stephanie Peters, CAE

Works with auditors and recommends approval of the audited financial statements and related management letter to the Board.  Monitors the organization’s accounting policies and procedures. (Members are appointed by the Board.)

Awards – Chair: David Norman

Sets appropriate guidelines for the Virginia Society of Association Executives Award of Excellence, Associate of the Year Award and Career Service Award.  Makes selections for those awards. (Members are past recipients of awards.)

CAE Committee – Chair: Sue Goldman, CAE, RCE

Promotes the designation of Certified Association Executive and plans study groups to prepare applicants.

Community Service – Chair: Michelle Moker, Chair-elect: Kim Law

Seeks better ways to communicate to the Society's members the goal, membership benefits and activities of the Society, and organizes community service activities.

Education – Chair: Tom Hardinam, CAE

Develops an education curriculum in association management and specific seminars for the Society.

Executive – Chair: Mike O'Connor, CAE

Assumes responsibility of the operation of the Society between Board meetings and provides the president and executive vice president with ideas for the successful accomplishment of the Society’s goals and objectives.

Government Affairs – Chair: Phyllis Errico, CAE

Monitors state legislative, executive and regulatory actions that impact upon association management.

Membership – Chair: Jan Morehead, CAE, Chair-elect: Ray Mattes, III, CAE
Secures expanded membership in VSAE among association executives in Virginia; welcomes new members.

Nominating – Chair: Sandee Levin

Solicits input from the membership and makes nominations for the officers and directors of the Society.

Trade Show – Chair: Mark Herzog  and Chair-elect: Andrew Mann

Assists in securing vendors to exhibit at Show. Works to encourage attendance at Show by members and other qualified meeting planners. Assists in deciding format of Show including seminars, food functions and Show hours.
